The Mammut Photo Contest was built to give you the chance to show us your kind of summer – and you delivered. With six unique categories and a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize on the line, this year’s entries went beyond the ordinary.

Pete Elliott wins Mammut Photo Contest 2025

It was so hard to choose the winning photo, but once we did, we knew we had to put on a proper show. So we sent our CEO Heiko Schäfer BACK to the mountains, with a plan to put the winning image in a rather unique location — same outfit, same high-altitude vibes… new office! What’s he up to this time and how are we going to congratulate Pete?! Something is in the air… you’ll have to watch to find out!

Out of thousands of breathtaking submissions, Pete Elliott’s stunning shot of a perfect sunset moment in the French Alps near Chamonix, captured the judges’ attention and claimed the top honor. Pete shared “Right place, right time. It was my first time in Chamonix so I opted for a classic camping spot hoping to catch the reflection of the Mt Blanc Massif in Lacs des Chéserys. It was a perfect sunset and as the sun dropped the massif glowed a purple and pink colour for 10 minutes. It was just my luck that these 3 hikers crossed the frame, perfectly spaced apart.

To everyone who took part in the Mammut Photo Contest… wow. What a response! Thanks for “taking your best shots” and sharing what your kind of summer looks like! And while Pete’s image took the top spot, there were so many unforgettable moments worth celebrating — proving once again that adventure is best when shared.

We invited you to take your best shot and show us your kind of summer, and you showed up! Whether you hung with locals or got lost in the wilderness, your stories brought the summer season to life.

With thousands of submissions from around the globe — spanning must-see landmarks to hidden gems — the decision wasn't easy for our world-class judging panel.

Now, the wait is over. The votes are in. And we’re beyond thrilled to unveil the category winners of the Mammut Photo Contest 2025. They showed us what summer looks like through their lens — breathtaking, wild, and leaving us craving the next adventure.

Your Shot at a One-of-a-Kind Photo Adventure with Chris Burkard

The Grand Prize is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with Chris Burkard in the Swiss Alps tailored for photography and exploration.
